Donnarumma is "picketed" by Inter

Gianluigi Donnarumma can return to Serie A and this time not to Milan, but to the Rossoneri's sworn rivals, Inter. According to reports from "Sky Sport", Inter have shown interest in Donnarumma as a possibility for the upcoming summer market. Although it is currently a rumor and not a concrete negotiation, this scenario has attracted a lot of attention.

Donnarumma has a contract with PSG until 2026, but it seems that he is no longer on great terms with coach Luis Enrique. Moreover, the purchase of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov from PSG during the summer for 20 million euros has created a difficult situation for the Italian. If the relationship between him and the Parisian club does not improve and the contract renewal does not happen, the goalkeeper may decide to leave.

Inter are currently looking for stability in goal and can take advantage of this situation. Yan Sommer, who succeeded Onana, seems to have come to the end of the affair with the blacks, also because of his old age. In this situation, Donnaruma would be an excellent reinforcement for Simone Inzaghi's team. If the transfer is completed, Donaruma would find a familiar environment at Inter and some teammates from the Italian national team, such as Dimarco, Barella and Bastoni. Another important figure for him is Gianluca Spinelli, Inter's goalkeeping coach, with whom the 25-year-old worked during his time at PSG.

However, in order to return to Italy and wear the Inter jersey, Donnarumma will have to make some sacrifices. He currently earns a salary of 10 million euros net per year, including bonuses, a figure that Inter cannot afford. If the goalkeeper is willing to take a pay cut, then a deal could be possible. In addition, PSG will demand a significant transfer fee to release the goalkeeper.

Donnarumma left Milan in 2021 as a free player, while he has experienced a complicated period at PSG. Although he has won seven trophies in France, including three championships and a Coupe de France, his adventure in Paris has not always been sustainable. He has often been at the center of criticism for crucial mistakes and the inability to provide complete stability in PSG's goal.

Furthermore, his relationship with the Parisian fans has often been strained, and competition within the squad has brought his starting position into question. A return to Serie A could be an important step in regaining his best form and finding the stability he seeks. Inter, on the other hand, is following the situation carefully. Marotta is known for his ability to take advantage of good opportunities in the market, and a deal with Donnarumma could be a strategic move for the club in black. Moreover, the fact that Hakan Çalhanoglu, another former Milan player, has found brilliance at Inter could be an inspiring example for Donaruma.
