The decision is made/ the US is determined: The Russian oil price limit will hit

A new cap on the price of Russian oil would "immediately cut off Putin's most important source of income," the US said.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the limit - which was formally approved by Western allies on Friday - came after months of hard work.

The cap bars countries from paying more than $60 (£48) a barrel for seaborne exports of Russian crude. This decision will enter into force on December 5.

The price cap was imposed in September by the G7 group of countries (the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the EU) in an attempt to crack down on Moscow's ability to finance the war in Ukraine.
