The mayor, Erion Veliaj, arrested on 13 charges for 5 serious criminal offenses, has addressed a request to the Municipal Council, which has clarified in a statement that Veliaj can submit his requests and clarifications in writing to the Municipal Council, to be presented during the meeting.

In response to his "alassas", Veliaj says that he has not been officially informed of his dismissal.

He has also launched his attack on the City Council and the Secretary of the City Council, saying that any of his communications go beyond technical-administrative functions and are an excess of competence.

From Durrës prison, Veliaj continues to complain that he has not been given the opportunity to be heard to give his explanations.

"You are not a collegial body. I have not yet been officially informed of my dismissal."
