There is no peace for Denzel Dumfries at Inter. Through an official statement, the black and blue club announced that Dumfries has undergone surgery on his left ankle, injured during the match against Lazio, held on November 9. The operation was performed in London and was successful.

According to initial estimates, the intervention will keep the former PSV player out of action for a period expected to last between two and three months. In the official announcement, Inter have announced that Dumfries will follow a detailed rehabilitation program in the coming weeks, with the aim of gradually returning to activity.

This development opens up several scenarios for the Blues, who could decide to intervene in the transfer market to cover the shortage on the right wing. The alternatives being considered are two: a temporary solution, through the loan of a player, or a premature investment that could have been planned for the summer transfer market.

Despite the injury, Dumfries' future at Inter has been uncertain in recent months. Just a short while ago, the player made another change of agent official, moving from Jorge Mendes to Ali Barat. The move has been interpreted as a clear signal that the Dutchman is considering new options for his career. Since last summer, his departure was a possible scenario, due to his €25 million release clause, while last season's positive performance had also put him on the list of 30 candidates for the Ballon d'Or.
