Problems with the Albanian Language/ Researchers put "the finger on the wound"

Of the 29,731 high school graduates participating in the Albanian Language and Literature test, only four of them managed to get the maximum grade, 10.

For Ledi Shamku-Shkreli and Nebi Bardhoshi from the Academy of Albanian Studies, this is bad news that was actually expected.

This is because according to them, the current system and curricula have many shortcomings that must be fixed. Ms. Shkreli says that in Literature, the education system in the country is at the stage it was in the 60s where the main question remains "what did the author want to say".

According to her, the Albanian language is the only institution not yet decommunized.

Ledi Shamku-Shkreli says that the Academy of Albanian Studies should not be satisfied with the elite study, but should also touch on concrete concerns such as language and linguistics.

According to her, the possibilities are there, and the Academy has the ability and desire to take on this issue.

"The opportunity to offer a text design program that comes with a different approach to national knowledge. A new relationship with teachers, the Academy has the opportunity and the desire to be part of the offer of new programs, but that these programs are also made in an intensive dialogue with teachers. We want an active dialogue with MES," she said.
