The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, together with the Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, have visited the Dibër Regional Hospital, where the project for the rehabilitation of the hospital, a major investment for health in the district of Dibër, was presented.

"Part of the hospital plan is the complete rehabilitation of the Dibër Regional Hospital, a hospital which in the next 2 years will have European infrastructure parameters, making it possible for us to have a hospital which integrates into a unique structure the pediatric service, the obstetric-gynecological service and the entire infrastructure starting from imaging, to the laboratory, pathology service, surgery, operator and resuscitation", she said

Manastirliu also spoke about the historic salary increase for specialist doctors, family doctors and nurses, which comes into effect today.

"There are 11 specialist doctors who have been added to this hospital, starting with very delicate services such as the surgery service, such as the resuscitation service as well as other essential services. We work with the vision to create the opportunity for every Albanian citizen to have an accessible, quality health service close to the place of residence. Now our specialist doctors will be appreciated with a historic salary increase in hospitals, even in polyclinics, supporting them with 50 thousand new lek per month on top of their salary, and on the other hand for our doctors and nurses we will also have a 7% pay rise this year and in 2024, just as we have promised, we will have a targeted pay rise for you, for nurses everywhere, in hospitals, health centers and also for general practitioners",said the minister.

Ministers Manastirliu and Balluku have also closely inspected the polyclinic of Dibër Hospital, which is nearing the end of the works.

Work is expected to begin on the complete rehabilitation of the Dibër Regional Hospital, which is being rebuilt with contemporary conditions for the residents of this district./ CNA.al
