EP rapporteur criticizes opposition: Use arguments, not Molotov cocktails

The EP rapporteur for Albania, Andreas Schieder, has criticized the opposition for using Molotov cocktails during the protests.

In a statement to the media, Schieder said that instead of Molotov cocktails, the opposition should use arguments.

Schieder stressed that democracy with Molotov cocktails is not good. The EP rapporteur underlined that the situation is being dramatized more than necessary in Albania.

"Don't use Molotov cocktails, but arguments. Democracy with Molotov cocktails is not good. Last week we saw the protests that looked dramatic from the photos and then you come and see a less dramatic situation than what we saw in the photos. I know that Albanians and democracy are functioning well, that there are debates in the Assembly, there is space for the opposition to discuss issues. It is a normal democracy where sometimes you like someone, sometimes you hate someone. Let's not dramatize the situation more than necessary. I would choose the normal functioning of a democracy", said the EP rapporteur, Andreas Schieder./ CNA
