Xhaçka's mandate/ Debate between SP and DP in the Regulation Council
Regulation Council

At the second meeting of the Council of Regulations on the invalidity claimed by the democrats of the mandate of minister Olta Xhaçka, there were no shortage of debates. The opposition demands the termination of her mandate as a deputy, finding it in conflict with the status as a strategic investor of the minister's husband.
"What property does the state or local government use personally referring to the constitution? Bushka asks.

"Ms. Xhaçka is a shareholder in equal value with her husband in every asset given during the marriage", declared Bardhi.
"That the profit did not happen, which means that we are not before the provision of Article 70, point 3 that your request is not based on the constitution", answered Balla.

"I have the impression that you want to cover this with darkness," Alibeaj added.
The democrats asked to pave the way for sending the case to the constitutional court, but the opposition of the socialists brought even stronger debates that forced the president Lindita Nikolla to interrupt the meeting.

The blood calmed down after the work resumed. The Socialists accepted the request of the Democrats to call Minister Xhaçka to the next meeting, in order to get to know her position, a request they had opposed a week ago.
The minister gave an answer at the press conference alongside Prime Minister Edi Rama where she also received his support.

"Does or not a private business has the right to open umbrellas on a beach that is not alienated, it is public property, and you confuse the use for profit with the servitude of crossing or exiting the sea for the customers of any hotel on the coast", said Xhaçka.
"Looking for a conflict of interest here means, in fact, looking to deprive people of their right to private property, who are in their work, and there is no benefit here," said Rama.
Minister Xhaçka and the Prime Minister emphasized that it is good for the institutions to express themselves on the matter. /CNA.al
