The General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, met today with the Rapporteur for the Western Balkans in the Committee for Foreign Policy in the German Bundestag, Adis Ahmetovic.
The two interlocutors discussed the process of Albania's integration into the EU, the close cooperation of the Socialist Party with the German SPD and the situation facing Europe as a result of the war in Ukraine.
"I had the pleasure of welcoming in a meeting the Rapporteur for the Western Balkans in the Committee for Foreign Policy in the German Bundestag, Adis Ahmetovic, where we discussed the process of Albania's integration into the EU, the close cooperation of the Socialist Party with the German SPD and the situation facing Europe as a result of the war in Ukraine. We shared the opinion that not opening negotiations between Albania and the European Union would be a lost historical chance for the Region and European security", writes Gjiknuri.
The General Secretary of the Socialist Party thanked Mr. Ahmetovic for the support of Germany and Chancellor Scholz to Albania for the integration process and emphasized that Albania's future is membership in the European Union./CNA.al
