Will the DP continue with the boycott of the "Electoral Commission"?

The Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi, spoke after the meeting of the Parliamentary Group, where he announced that members of the Democratic Party will continue to be part of the Electoral Reform Commission.

Boçi said that they will not boycott the Commission, while adding that the final decisions of the commission's work must be consensual by both parties.

"Meanwhile, the DP's position, after discussions in the Parliamentary Group and the Small Presidency, is that the DP continues and will continue to be part of the Electoral Reform Commission, in a meeting as soon as possible, agreed upon between the co-chairs. We will continue with the commission's agenda, which remained at the time of the election of the commission's secretary. We will not boycott the commission.

My public pronouncement is not enough. I am obliged, respecting parliamentary ethics, to announce the readiness of the DP Group and the members of this committee to support this reform, which must be said to be important and should not be prejudiced. We have heard that they have ready variants in their drawers. The finalization must be consensual, based on the principle of parity of votes. These are issues that will be discussed in the continuation of the work that the committee will do" , said Boçi. /CNA
