May 14 elections/ 5,500 police officers will be committed to the smooth running

As we are only a few days away from the local elections, the organization for the smooth running of the voting has begun.

The State Police will have 5,500 active and engaged specially for the May 14 elections.

Most of the police force will be engaged in the transportation and storage of election materials. There are two reasons that may require the intervention of police forces inside the premises of the voting centers, for emergency cases such as incidents or otherwise only at the request of the chairman of the voting center.

During the last 3 months, about 7,000 employees have been trained and received the appropriate directives for the May 14 local elections, in cooperation with the OSCE and the CEC.

At the end of the voting process at 7:00 p.m., the police will accompany the ballot boxes to the CEZs, based on a predetermined instruction. The State Police has taken the protection of the CEAZs throughout the country since the moment the necessary infrastructure for the development of the elections was erected./ CNA.al
