Tragedy in Crete/ Boy burns his mother and uncle, one of the victims was found

A family tragedy has shaken the island of Crete today. The unimaginable event occurred on 'Halepa' street, in Mastabas, Heraklion, where two people were burned to death after a fire broke out in an apartment.

According to the Police, the perpetrator is suspected of setting the fire himself, with the intention of burning his mother and uncle, who were inside the house at the time.

Burnt bodies were found in different rooms, while one of the victims had a bag over his head.

Firefighters were mobilized immediately, with 16 firefighters and 4 vehicles operating at the scene.

The boy then went back up to the apartment and jumped off the balcony.

Authorities are investigating the case as arson and murder, trying to shed light on the perpetrator's motives. /CNA
