The General Directorate of Road Transport Services has published the statistics of road accidents for the period January-March 2023.

DPSHTRR announces that there is a minimal decrease in fatalities from accidents compared to the same period of 2018.

But what is worrying is the increase in accidents caused by the wrong behavior of pedestrians.

According to statistics, in the period January-March 2023 there were 46% more accidents caused by pedestrians, compared to the same period in 2022.

Driving a vehicle is a very big responsibility, for yourself and others, as important as the correct behavior of the passenger, pedestrian and pedaler on the road

While the January-March 2023 statistics clearly speak of a decrease in road accidents compared to the same period in 2018, a minimal decrease in fatalities is observed, as well as an increase in accidents caused by the wrong behavior of pedestrians!

263 road accidents during the period January-March 2023, 29% less compared to 2018!

35% fewer road accidents by drivers under 25 years of age, which speaks positively for newly licensed drivers, compared to the same period in 2018!

28% of the total accidents in January-March 2023 were caused by the 25-34 age group, 27% less than in January-March 2018!

19% of all road accidents were caused by pedestrians, 46% more compared to the same period in 2022.

20% of all road accident victims caused by pedestrian behavior, 82% more compared to 2022.

Disregarding traffic lights, white lines, pedaling lanes or the use of prohibited devices in traffic, not taking care of yourself and the consequences on other road users, are a daily concern
