A 45-year-old man was captured by the police as part of an operation codenamed "Member".

It is learned that the 45-year-old man, who was declared internationally wanted for participating in a criminal group with the purpose of cultivating narcotic plants, was arrested in Fier, with the intention of extradition to Spain.

"The services of FAST Albania, in cooperation with the Narcotics Investigation Section at DVP Fier and with Interpol Tirana, after receiving information about the whereabouts of a citizen declared internationally wanted, finalized the police operation coded 'Member'.

As a result of this operation, in the 'Bishanak' neighborhood, Fier, a 45-year-old citizen of AK, a resident of Fier, was captured and put in handcuffs, for the purpose of extradition.

This citizen was wanted internationally after the Court of Madrid, with the decision dated 27.04.2022, assigned the security measure 'Arrest in prison', for the criminal offense of 'Participation in a criminal group for the purpose of cultivating narcotic plants'.

Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Madrid, is following the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Spain",  - the police announce./ CNA.al
