He was in prison for the murder of his wife/ American citizen ends his life in

Detainee Ronald Saporito has ended his life by hanging himself in the Shkodra Penitentiary Institution.

American citizen Saporito was accused of "Murder due to family relations" after he killed his wife in the apartment they had rented in Shkodra in May of this year.

According to the announcement, Ronald Saporito was found with signs of life by employees, but died on the way to the hospital.

 

"At the Shkodra Prison, on October 28, 2025, the detainee Brendon Ronald Saporito was found hanging in his room by his fellow inmates. The institution's employees took him out with a pulse and signs of life to the emergency room, where the medical staff provided him with first aid. Despite the immediate intervention from the Koplik Hospital and the efforts of the medical staff, the detainee did not manage to survive.

Brendon Ronald Saporito, born on 22.04.1968, son of Joesph Binald Saporita and Marichea (Klein) Saporita, was in the Shkodra Penitentiary Institution due to the decision of the Shkodra First Instance Court, which had assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", suspected of the criminal offense "Murder due to family relations". He was arrested on 02.05.2025 and brought to the institution on 04.05.2025.

"The incident was immediately reported to the competent authorities, and all investigative actions are being carried out to fully clarify the circumstances. The Directorate of the Shkodra Penitentiary Institution is cooperating closely with the Prosecution and the Internal Control Service in Prisons for the full documentation of the incident," the announcement states./ CNA
