The mystery of Martinaj's disappearance/ Former police chief: I don't
The former senior director of the State Police, Arben Hajdarmataj

Since August 2022, the "boss" of gambling and much wanted by justice, Ervis Martinaj was declared missing and since then his fate has remained a mystery.

The former head of the State Police, Arben Hajdarmataj, spoke about the disappearance of Martinaj this evening.

In a televised appearance, he said he believes there will be information about Martinaj's disappearance. The former police chief emphasized that if an event goes by for 6 months without being solved, then it can always remain a mystery.

"All information always has a track. These lines of inquiry may even be correct. But finding proof is a bit difficult. This is one of the reasons it holds you hostage. Another reason is the inability to conduct investigations. All this technology that is being used to do investigations, from security cameras to other tools, I would say that the police are not masters and cannot deal with this technological data. An event occurs, it is forgotten, another occurs and we enter a cyclical circle and we as citizens do not feel safe.

Unfortunately, there is no information about Martinaj and I think there won't be. For sensational cases of disappearances, we have the example of the murder of the banker Santo, etc. I think that a sensational event does not come to light within 6 months, then that file is forgotten. It goes from one vault to another. We have some old events uncovered, due to the remorse of some criminals who have given details about the event. We have no detection due to the incompetence of the police and the prosecution. So, unfortunately, if it is not resolved within a period of 6 months, this file will be forgotten", declared Hajdarmataj./ CNA.al
