The road accident resulting in the death of a 72-year-old man, which happened yesterday in the village of Polizhan, is clarified.

The Blues announce that they have identified, located and handcuffed the driver of the vehicle, who immediately left the scene of the accident.

As a result, a citizen with the initials BD, 50 years old, resident in the village of Gajdë, Poshnje, was arrested in the act. He is now accused of the criminal offenses "Violation of traffic rules" and "Leaving the scene of the accident".

From the investigative actions, it turned out that the 50-year-old man, on the "Berat-Ura e Kuçit" road axis, near the village of Polizhan, while driving a "Benz" pickup truck, had an accident resulting in the death of the citizen with the initials I.Ç. 72 years old, resident of Polizhan village, Dimal, who was riding a bicycle.

Meanwhile, the materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Berat Judicial District Court, for further action./ BA - CNA.al
