New details from the event that shocked Fier this morning, where a 30-year-old man massacred his mother with a knife, are coming to light.

The boy, who is suspected to have been drunk, asked his mother Donika for money. 

The woman refused and mother and son had a verbal argument. The argument was strong and then the boy took a knife and stabbed him several times.

Claudio Çobaj was arrested a few minutes after the incident by the police, while the woman is in a serious condition in the hospital.

Neighbors of the family say they were good people. 

"Many, many good people. There are two chupa and two chuna. He was a wise man, may God kill him for him. We are surprised about it," said a neighbor.

Donika's husband died, while her two daughters were in emigration.
