An engagement between two young people of different nationalities has become the cause of a fight between two families in Albania.

Italian media reports that the fight started after an 18-year-old woman got engaged to a 21-year-old Moroccan man.

This relationship was opposed by the Albanian family of the girl, who did not accept that their daughter would marry a foreigner.

The clash between the two families happened when the girl was out for a walk with her sister and her partner and they suddenly encountered the girl's relatives.

The girl tried to calm the situation, but she was attacked with a slap, while the girl's uncle hit the young man.

After that, several other relatives of the girl intervened, including a 32-year-old man, who allegedly pulled out a knife.

After this scary episode, the girl reported her relatives to the police, saying that she received threats from time to time since she announced her engagement to the 21-year-old.

Then the girl returned to Albania, thus ending the engagement. /CNA.al
