The ship Ever Given

The Suez Canal Authority said on Monday that a cargo ship carrying corn had become stuck in the waterway but was later able to be refloated and water traffic restored.

Canal services firm Leth Agencies said the vessel, MV Glory, ran aground near the town of Qantara and that three canal tugs were working to retrieve the vessel.

Officials did not have details on what caused the ship to crash into the ground. Parts of Egypt, including its northern provinces, experienced a wave of bad weather on Sunday.
