Police: KFOR will remove the damaged trucks from the northern roads

On January 5, the units of the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, will remove the damaged trucks, which were located in the north of Kosovo.

This is what the Kosovo Police announced, adding that the trucks were located in the place called Zhazha Stream.

"For work and safety reasons, from the morning one lane of the road will be closed for traffic, while at noon for around two hours the road will be completely closed for traffic in the Mitrovica - Jarinje direction, until the heavy vehicles leave, to enable them to circulate and the free movement of vehicles and citizens", says the announcement of the Kosovo Police.

Most of the barricades were removed the following day, but some still remain. On January 3, KFOR removed the trucks stationed at the place called Duda's Rock.

Due to the placement of the barricades, the roads leading to the two border points - Jarinje and Bërnjak - connecting Kosovo and Serbia were blocked. They were then temporarily closed to traffic.

Also, due to a blockade placed on the territory of Serbia, near the Merdare border crossing, this point was also closed to traffic for two days. Merdarja was opened for traffic on December 29.

The government of Kosovo has accused "criminal gangs" that have the support of Serbia for the barricades. Belgrade, on the other hand, has supported the Serbs who had erected barricades./REL
