The removal of the barricade at "Duda's Rock" begins

The NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, KFOR, announced on Tuesday that it is conducting "engineering operations" in northern Kosovo to remove some vehicles that are still blocking roads there.

Radio Free Europe has provided photos showing that members of KFOR, the European Union Mission for the Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX), and the Kosovo Police have gathered at the place known as "Duda's Rock", where there are still some trucks that have blocked the road.

The trucks at this location in North Mitrovica were burned on December 29.

Për 20 ditë me rradhë, në dhjetor të vitit 2022, në katër komunat veriore të banuara me shumicë serbe, u vendosën barrikada në rrugët që çojnë drejt pikave kufitare Kosovë-Serbi.

Barrikadat u vendosën në shenjë pakënaqësie me arrestimin e një ish-polici serb të Kosovës, i cili, sipas autoriteteve të Kosovës, dyshohet për organizimin e një sulmi ndaj zyrave të Komisionit Qendror të Zgjedhjeve në veri.

Por, serbët vendosën të heqin barrikadat pasi Dejan Pantiqit iu ndryshua masa e sigurisë nga paraburgim në arrest shtëpiak.

Po ashtu, përfaqësuesit e serbëve në Kosovë, gjatë një takimi në Rashkë të Serbisë me presidentin serb, Aleksandar Vuçiq, më 28 dhjetor deklaruan se kanë marrë garanci që kërkesat e serbëve për heqjen e barrikadave do të plotësoheshin.
