Activists of the Joint Movement have protested against the construction of a 7-story building in the small park located between the two buildings.

Arlind Qori has asked the residents of this area, on Llambi Bonata street in Kombinat, to protest and stand against this project.

This building is being built with the signature of the mayor Erion Veliaj, who gave his approval on January 10 of this year.

The park with few trees and many children will be given to some builders who will add millions of euros to their bank accounts at the expense of the healthy urban life and play of the children of that neighborhood.

"Children would dream of such a space, a space where you can leave the palace with a ball and not be crushed by a car 50 centimeters from the door of the palace. The vast majority of Tirana's children have already lost the public spaces, they have already lost the parks. Because the corrupt politicians in the municipality of Tirana and in the government of the Republic of Albania, politicians like Erion Veliaj and Edi Rama benefit millions, together with the construction oligarchs, turning the city into a permanent construction site", declared Arlind Qori.

Among other things, Qori said that the longer Veliaj stays away from prison, the more endangered public spaces and parks are.

The residents, who gathered in the flower garden, said that there are no other places for recreation and entertainment in this area.

"It's the future here growing up, despite the lack of gardens and toys and everything. And the only thing left here they want to steal from us. They want to steal even the air we have for free. Let's think about the sprouts that are growing, about the retirees who have nowhere to rest even though two benches have tried to put us down, ignoring us all the time. Nor have they pleased us by coming to see us for any problem that we have raised our voice. Be it for water or for everything", said one of the ladies present at the protest.

The residents, among other things, also denounced the fact that the Complex was left with the ruins of the collapsed buildings due to the earthquake.

"The plant has become a ruin. They want to demolish the only flower garden left in Kombinat, to make it like all the buildings that have been demolished. Let them give building permits where other buildings have been demolished. Why should they destroy a flower garden? He said that we will plant 2 million trees. Let's uproot 100 trees here in Kombinat and plant them somewhere else to make 3 million", declared one of the residents./ CNA
