Works on the blocked axis/ ARRSH Planning Director: We can have the deadline

The Director of Strategic Planning and Operations at the Albanian Road Authority, Indrit Koleci, in a statement to the media, provided an update on the situation in Dragostunja.

Koleci said that a deadline cannot be given yet, as tests are still being conducted.

Regarding the completion period of the works, the planning director said that the deadline will be announced within 3-4 days.

Focusing on the alternative route, the collector said that the Spathara road was inspected and it was concluded that it does not offer safety and cannot be invested in.

 

" We cannot say a deadline yet. We have done a topographic survey of the entire area downstream of the river, where the temporary diversion will also be made. We have done a hydraulic modeling of the riverbed or the river. We will also do a review with the new road body that we will build, to be as safe as possible in case of a complete flood, if we say of the river. Studies continue in the upper part for the stabilization of the landslide mass. We cannot say a deadline, since there are considerable volumes, we cannot rush and say something that we will then withdraw.

As a prediction, I'm saying we can have the deadline within 3-4 days, we will be able to say that the works can be finished within that time.

We will continue with the measures that are the alternatives that have been given so far.

The Road Authority has given its alternatives. This road does not meet safety standards. The Spathar road was inspected yesterday by our experts and this axis, which is 15.1 km, does not offer road safety. So it is an axis that we will not be able to consider investing in ," said Koleci.
