The marriage of two women in the municipality/ Ramkaj: Illegal, Veliaj has political costs

The head of the Interfaith Cooperation Center in Elbasan, Arben Ramkaj, has reacted regarding the celebration of the two girls Alba Ahmetaj and Edlira Mara on the terrace of the Municipality of Tirana.

Ramkaj called this marriage illegal and unformal. He declared in Euronea Albania that the marriage of two girls breaks the family code, while he emphasized that the mayor Erion Veliaj has a cost with the decision to celebrate on the terrace of the municipality.

"This is an informal, anti-legal marriage, not foreseen by the law and the family code. The problem is that this was done in a public office of the Albanian state from a municipality which has a municipal council, has authorities, there are citizens who voted for it. They received a mountain of votes from conservatives and traditionalists. The mayor took this decision, which will turn into a political cost", Ramkaj emphasized./ CNA
