Applications are open for employment of electricians in OSHEE, age criterion

A new campaign for the employment of electricians at the Electricity Distribution Operator was presented today by the Deputy Prime Minister, simultaneously the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, and the top leaders of OSHEE and OSSH.

The call is open from today and the campaign will continue for 30 days, where all young men and women who meet the criteria can submit their applications.

In October last year, OSHEE opened applications for the employment of 309 electricians across the country. More than 300 young people applied to be part of the company. After all the procedures, 60 of them have already been employed by OSHEE.

In the second call, which was opened today, the criteria have also changed. Where the age of the applicants goes up to 35 years, from 25 that was in the first application.

Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. OSHEE administrator Enea Karakaçi and OSSH administrator Blendian Dalipi announced the opening of the call for applications during a meeting with new OSHEE electricians who were recruited during the October campaign.

Administrator Karakaçi said that through this process the revitalization of the company and especially of the field workers is aimed. "We initiated a mass recruitment procedure. Our desire was to recruit a significant number of employees of young ages. We opened the recruitment procedure up to the age of 25, taking into consideration the average age of our field workers, which is over 50 years old, and the desire to revitalize this procedure", said Karakaçi.

Minister Balluku appreciated the work done by the Electricity Distribution Operator, where, despite the difficulties caused by the energy crisis, it has continued to improve performance indicators, even setting new targets for further reductions in network losses.

As far as the applications are concerned, Balluku expressed his conviction that it will be possible to fill all the vacancies, employing young professionals in all the regional directorates of the country.

"Starting today, we open a call for jobs that have remained vacant, which are about 240, and these vacant jobs must of course be filled, but now with a difference. We absorbed everyone up to 25 years old who was free on the labor market and who met the conditions, had the vocational school, had the right diploma and now we will raise the level a little higher. We have said this at the beginning of the time, do not prejudice us because we will attract the young ages and then we will continue with more mature ages. So this call goes up to the age of 35 and will remain open for 1 month", said Balluku.

Expressing support for field workers, who serve in every corner of the country, despite the difficulties of the weather, Balluku said that the young people who have joined OSHEE and will join in the future, will bring a spirit new, intertwining with the staff who have been working with this company for years.

"I believe that the young people who will come will have the opportunity to bring with them a new spirit. A new spirit as OSHEE is an enterprise that regenerates either from ideas, from products, from reforms or from staff and we have seen the first fruits of a deep reform that we started at the beginning of last year and will undoubtedly to continue at the same pace. This is a year where many investments are expected", said Balluku.
