"Armed Forces on alert"/ Peleshi reassures the residents of Lezha

The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, spoke from the city of Lezha regarding the meteorological situation in the country.

He said that in the areas where there was intense rain, a good job was done with the drainage channels.

Peleshi: As soon as the intensity of the rain falls, the water drains and frees those areas occupied by water. In the administrative unit of Dajçi, we have several hectares of water, but when the intensity of rains increased, they were released immediately.

The Minister has emphasized that the Armed Forces are available and that so far some residents have been evacuated in the area of ??Malësi e Madhe.

Peleshi: We had 3 evacuations in Malesia e Madhe and in Bërdica, the Armed Forces are helping the crossing with their tools. There is no water in the apartments and there is no need to evacuate.

On the other hand, the Mayor of the Municipality, Pjerin Ndreu, has emphasized that the situation is under control.

Ndreu: There is an aggravation of the situation in some areas, also due to the opening of the hydropower plant of Vaut de Deja. However, the situation so far is safe for residents and we are keeping it under control. There are some flooded areas, but the work with the drainage channels has had an effect.

Ndreu also emphasized that they will be on full alert and are making a plan together with Minister Peleshi so that all emergency units are at work./CNA.al
