Lulzim Basha, the acting leader of the Democratic Party, continued his tour of meetings in Kavaja and Rrogozhina, in two areas that were the stronghold of the Democratic Party, and were DP lost again on April 25.
In both Kavaja and Rrogozhina, Grida Duma was sent as a political leader, who after the elections stated in the media that she had been contacted by the criminal organization to bargain with her.
According to Duma, she had forwarded all these proposals to the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, and the latter hadn’t accepted the cooperation with them. But neither Duma nor Basha have spoken with concrete names, but only in general.
Even in the meetings of Kavaja and Rrogozhina, Basha didn’t mention any gangs, except for the same statements that we are used to hearing from city to city, which differ only be the order of sentences. And from the rhetoric “we didn’t win the elections, because we did not bargain with the gangs and did not accept their offers”, Basha went on to justify that “we run in an unequal race”.
We recall that the Democratic Party received 10.115 votes in the last elections in the Municipality of Kavaja, despite the 10.338 votes received by the Socialist Party. While according to the official data of the CEC, the Democratic Party in the Municipality of Rrogozhina has received 3.949 votes total in 53 polling stations.
The figures speak for themselves, and no one dealt with the gangs anymore. Silence by Basha, Duma, and silence from the justice which was called to reveal the truth. So whether the DP really offered criminal gangs for bargaining, or all this was an imagination of Ms. Duma, who publicly included Basha in this story./CNA.al
