Albania has an opposition people, but no opposition

There are at least three cases, when the reaction of the Albanian youth and the majority of the people, active voters or not, has really been a great opposition force, putting the government in difficulty and showing it that Albania, although it may not have a credible opposition, or used by the government, has an opposition people.

Yesterday, after the calls started on social networks by “Brryli Broadway” or other websites, a thousand young people gathered in front of the Ministry of Interior and protested. They would have had a very big victory if they had stayed there, demanding the resignation of the minister.

But the crowd then went to the front of the prime minister’s building, and then some acts of violence were committed, if any. There were many young people who showed that in Albania there is still hope, that there are opposition people.

So there are young people who don’t bow to injustices, who react, who shout loudly, who clash with the authorities when they feel pain and injustice. So it happened yesterday, they reacted after the murder of a 25-year-old by the police, and rightly the revolt started very strong.

Many media tried to call it political, why did participate rapper Stresi or his friends. In fact, there is nothing wrong with that. He is a man, and although he is a PD militant, he and his comrades have the right to protest. The important thing is that was protested, and not who protested!

He is young, they are Democrats, and there is nothing wrong with getting together and demand justice for their friend criminally executed by the irresponsibility of a police officer.

The second case is the student protest, which was the hope of an entire people. The students showed that Albania had an opposition people, that the future of the country would be better. They protested for days in front of the Ministry of Education, and very soon Minister Lindita Nikolla resigned.

Unfortunately we don’t have a better law on higher education, and on the whole that expectation didn’t bring any great victory, but the government received a “bitter lesson”. And Sander Lleshaj would have received the same lesson yesterday, if the young people didn’t leave the Ministry of Interior.

The third is the protest that took place in the first moments of the coming to power of the Renaissance, the one against the bringing of chemical weapons in Albania, where several hundred young people gathered as if by chance in front of the prime minister’s building, and then became a large crowd that didn’t have no leader.

But don’t forget a young protester wearing a yellow uniform that made the difference.
His name was Zirkon Disha, already more involved in his civil movement activities. But then, he and several hundred other young people, including Arlind Qorri’s neo-anarchists or Marxists, gathered in front of the prime minister’s office and forced Edi Rama to say no to chemical weapons in Albania.
It was the first hope and strongest reaction, that had occurred since 1990 to a government, from the young people. From that time until today, there are at least three cases that show us that Albania has an opposition people, but apparently unfortunately there is no opposition.

Perhaps this is one of the rare cases in the world, when the opposition acts of the citizens directly refuse to be represented by the opposition, by its official leader. In the first case Lulzim Basha was not accepted, but kicked out with whistle from the chemical weapons protest. He didn’t try to go to the students. On the contrary, together with Monika Kryemadhi of the SMI, he wanted to control the protest by creating incidents, quarrels and clashes, and the end is what everyone knows. So it happened yesterday.

At 16:30 the protest called on social networks gathered thousands of people. At 22:00, Lulzim Basha and his supporters had announced a protest, some of whom he started paying to make memes or to create spirit on social networks.

But, it was clear that the opposition people, the Albanians, the opposition youth, including the most extremists within the political spirit, went to the protest at 16:30, when they were called to the square by social networks, not when they called Lulzim Basha’s soldiers.

Albania has strong young people who inspire hope, who have courage, who protest only by reacting on social networks, but these are the same young people who abandon the self-proclaimed opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, abandon his calls, his protests and his movements.

They don’t see him as hope, but unfortunately they see him as Edi Rama, as the latter’s partner. They see him as the former Minister of Interior on January 21, when he didn’t resign. While yesterday, he provoked a second protest demanding the resignation of the Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj, when in fact he was once in the same situation, and hadn’t done so.

So this should be a moment of reflection for Democrats, for all opposition parties, to look in the mirror, to look back, and to think about the problems. It all starts with Lulzim Basha, and the pseudo-opposition elite represented by him and his soldiers. Some of them could be acceptable to the citizens but not Luli Basha. Therefore, the time has come for the political opposition, and if there are still some responsible people with some dignity, let them say publicly that Albania has young opposition, that exist an opposition people, but there is no opposition leader, and the opposition people don’t accept Lulzim Basha as a leader./CNA.al

September was expected to be the month of finalizing a fierce battle against corruption by the SPAK, the special prosecutor’s office. This was publicly stated by the head of this institution, but also by the US Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim.

The latter has given strong public support to the SPAK and the new justice institutions. But in fact as the third week of September is closing, and there is nothing new from SPAK. For months, we haven’t heard nothing, not about the so-called “big fish”, but also about the big corruption scandals.

So, on the corrupt affair of the century, that of incinerators. There is no talk at all about the hot files that this institution has in its hands. The incinerators’ affair is a denunciation made by the media, but also by political structures.

It has a value of almost 500 million euros, and include names like Mirel Mërtiri, his cohabitant Stela Gugallja, Klodian Zoto, and even media executives like Vjollca Hoxha, Ben Blushi and others. But SPAK is still not doing anything visible in this regard.

There is no signal on the file that started with the Elbasan incinerator, with 22 million euros received from Albanian taxes, from a company that officially claimed to have a capital of only 1 million old Lek (1.000 dollars).

Then the same company won the concession for the construction of the incinerator in Fier, worth 28 million euros, that today after almost 5 years, has not yet started to operate. In this case, excuses are always given for “problems”, as in the case of Elbasan or Fier.

The same things with the incinerator in Tirana worth about 128 million, where there is no incinerator yet. Here we have only landfilled management from a network of companies controlled by Klodian Zoto. Finally, the millions of euros given by the Municipality of Durrës, to take the waste to the incinerator in Tirana, which doesn’t exist.

Alqi Bllako, Lefter Koka

SPAK is currently in front of a test. Not only in front of public opinion, but also in front of foreign diplomats. Before the US and the EU, because of the investment they have made in Justice Reform. 5-6 years of reform, and today there is still no official accusation in a file where there are hundreds of thousands of documents that show a clear corruption affair.

The former minister who signed the affair, Lefter Koka, resigned from the mandate of deputy, shortly before the start of the new parliamentary session. Another man who signed, Alqi Bllako, former Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, has become a Socialist Party MP.

His brother collaborates in media partnerships with incinerators, at Lori Kafe. Hundreds facts have been published on this issue. Since the sale of shares of Lori Kafe, the companies of Stela Gugalla with Ben Blushi and Vjollca Hoxha, to the companies publicly denounced by the President of the Republic with documents showing that Alqi Bllako’s father was paid.

Facts and documents were further published, which show the scandal and corruption of incinerators. The so-called corrupt affair of the century, which will burden Albanians at the expense of about 500 million euros, of which 50 million in just a few years.

Edi Rama, Klodian Zoto

They were paid by the government directly to the pockets of the network of Mirel Mërtiri, Klodian Zotos, Stela Gugalla and the media they finance. So, from the money they receive from the state, from the money of the Albanian taxpayers, they finance the media to protect them.

Maybe even to prevent justice from revealing the truth. But this is not the time to believe it. It is time to hope. The first three weeks of September are gone. The month is coming to an end. There is still no accusation from SPAK on this issue. Although some files have been filed by the Knitting Thurje Initiative and the Democratic Party.

They have also been published by the media, but after almost 10 months since the creation of SPAK, we are still not seeing anything. We are not yet learning the truth about a corrupt dossier, which burdens not only the state budget, but abuses the taxes of Albanians by the ruling government, the ruling party, but also by its yesterday’s alliance with the SMI.

Albanians have high hopes and expect to see how the incinerator scheme will be dismantled, so that no one dares to touch the taxes of Albanians for corrupt interests. The SPAK has the touchstone to justify the confidence of the US and the EU that they have invested directly in the reform carried out in the justice system in Albania.

To the team they have set up. At the National Bureau of Investigation, in order to know the whole truth about an affair which affects the highest levels of Albanian state officials./CNA.al

The scandal/ Luzim Bashas’s bargaining with promises for positions and power to attack Sali Berisha

The incumbent chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, seems to have started another movement against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha. Hoping to survive at the helm of the DP, it is learned that Basha has started to call one by one in his office people whom he thinks he can shake from their position against him and the decision taken to expel Sali Berisha.

CNA.al has learned from official sources in the DP, that Lulzim Basha has tried in recent days to negotiate with some well-known figures of the DP by offering them positions and tasks.

But where will Luli Basha find these posts, since he is in opposition and not in power, would ask any ordinary reader?

For those who are not aware, we remind that the Democratic Party in agreement with the Socialists has already begun negotiations to take the posts that belong to the opposition, not to mention the part of the pie that Edi Rama is ready to give to Lulzim Basha, in the hope that will keep the latter closer and closer, as the road to Rama-Basha co-government is already clear.

CNA.al has learned from confidential sources, that Basha in these meetings held with political leaders, delegated district leaders and members of the presidency, has asked for thenominations to various boards that will represent the DP.

Basha has come up with several variants, emphasizing that all posts that legally belong to the opposition, will be taken despite the fact that many of them were occupied by yesterday’s parliamentary opposition, ie by parliamentary groups that became part of Parliament, after the burning of mandates by Lulzim Basha in February 2019.

The same sources stressed that Basha has received full guarantees, that there will be a replacement of boards in the Bank of Albania, in the Audiovisual Media Authority, in the Public Radio and Television and many, many other institutions, which according to the law have representatives from both political camps.

On the other hand, Edi Rama seems very generous in his offer, giving many positions in the public administration to the names proposed by Luli Basha. The latter is rushing to make these offers to many of his executives and associates, not to allow them to go to what might be called an uprising against Lulzim Basha within the Democratic Party.

The bazaar is clear:”Dont go to Berisha’s side, instead attack him, and I offer you this post. You will have the opportunity to take your brother to this post, your sister to this other post, etc”. A clear and disgusting bargain by Lulzim Basha, who is offering the posts given by Edi Rama to divide the Democrats, and to save himself from a “tsunami” that has begun to rise within the DP.

LEXO EDHE:  Patozi zbulon skenaret Rama-Basha/ “Duan të asgjësojnë LSI-në”

Sources emphasize that this and some other moves of Lulzim Basha, are his last hopes to resist not to resign after the clash he has with the party base. Everything seems to be quite difficult. It remains to be seen who will be the people that will accept Luli Basha’s alms or “bone”, which comes after his agreement and cooperation with Rama.

Another bargain offered in many areas is the race for municipalities. Basha has started to deceive the people, by emphasizing that early local elections will be announced very soon. The decision of the Venice Commission on the legitimacy of the 2019 elections is awaited, and Ilir Meta will decree the date of the early elections.

In this scenario, Basha would offer support to the surrounding people. After all, the biggest reaction against him comes from the base. But this again seems to be a lie, and a game to have on his side it branches chairmen or contenders, who intend to take leading positions.

Or those w ho aims to compete for municipalities. On the other hand, Lulzim Basha is promising them to run the branches of the Democratic Party in many localities.

After most of the local mayors’mandates have already ended, or some of them have resigned.

From the posts of Edi Rama, to the management of the branches of the Democratic Party, the candidacy for mayor, or to the promise that they will be part of the list of deputies after 4 years, are the offers in the “soup pot” of Luli Basha, who has enjoyed a spoonful and is trying to give it to those who have long distanced themselves from the truth to enjoy it. And now he wants to use them by offering him a spoonful of “soup” cooked by him and Edi Rama./CNA.al

Note/ Democratic Party is burning, while Luli Basha is “brushing his hair”

cna news, cna lajme, lajme cna, lajme flash cna, cna.al, cna lajme politike,

By Elvi FUNDO

What is happening with the opposition in general and with the Democratic Party in particular, goes well with a well-known popular proverb “The village burns, while the whore is brushing her hair!”. This expression is very much in line with the current situation, but also about what could happen in the future.

But let’s stick to the actuality.

Who is taking advantage of this clash within the DP!?

With what is happening only one person benefits, and this doesn’t require any lengthy analysis. So only Edi Rama is benefiting. The DP is not winning because, as it is divided, and its base is now set up against chairman Basha.

The DP doesn’t win this situation, because the majority of the parliamentary group shows that they are “eunuchs and courtesans”, they don’t speak. The DP doesn’t benefit after an anti-statutory act was committed, with a personal decision of an autocratic leader who just loses, and has no civic courage to resign from the post he holds.

DP doesn’t benefit in any case. Those who are winning are only the government and Edi Rama. The facts speak for themselves. The new Parliament convened, where the ‘Rama 3’ government would be voted on, the ministers would be debated.

But nobody remembers anything, nobody paid any attention to the speech of the opposition leader Basha. No debate in Parliament, but only the hysterical laughter of Luli Bashe towards the speech that was delivering his deputy Saimir Korreshi.

This speech went viral on social networks, where citizens supported the MP for the truths he said in Parliament, and disgusted Lulzim Basha for his shameful behavior. Well, the facts speak one by one, that the DP is “burning”, while Luli Basha is “brushing his hair”.

It is burning because it is torn. It is burning because its deputies have shut their mouths. It is burning because its parliamentary group is divided. It is burning, because the electoral body of the Democratic Party is against the chairman. It is burning because the militants who resisted the opposition in 1997-2005, are today against Luli Basha.

Deputies are against him. The DP is weaker today than ever before. The DP is burning. While Luli Basha is just “brushing his hair”. He laughs with the speech of the DP deputy Saimir Korreshi, and appears in the media and declares all the authority, that there are no steps back in relation to the decision for the expulsion of Berisha.

He lies shamelessly and publicly, declaring that with Berisha’s ouster he defended the DP alliance with the USA, and that this decision will lead him to victories tomorrow. He has even incited some analysts in the media to say that the alliance with the US will bring Luli Basha to power.

LEXO EDHE:  “Sistemi është prishur”/ Lubonja zbulon “lojën politike” Rama-Meta-Basha

LEXO EDHE:  Kryemadhi akuzon Bashën/ Dosjen “Xhafa” ta dha Edi Rama

How Basha will come to power only because he expelled Berisha from the DP, this can only be explained by the “great intellectuals” around Luli Basha, as no ordinary citizen and voter could understand this attitude. Beyond that, the DP can burn. And Luli Basha will continue to “brush his hair”.

He will do this for his wealth, for the villas he takes from the oligarchs, for the numerous accusations that have been made endlessly against him for selling mandates of deputies. He will continue to “brush his hair” for the increase of his brother-in-law’s wealth.

He will continue to “brush his hair” for the usurpation of the Democratic Party, as well as for his partnership with Edi Rama. But what will burn in the end is the Democratic Party. And the smoke, the flames are in the headquarters. They can be seen in the murderous silence, in the grief that every democrat has today, in the division that seems to be irreversible.

Maybe Basha understands this situation quite well. Perhaps there was no other alternative, but if he wanted the Democratic Party not to burn, he didn’t have to “brush his hair”. That alone would be enough, and the political situation of the opposition and its strength today would be many times greater. But we are facing the fact that DP is burning and Luli Basha is “brushing his hair”./CNA.al
