The scandal in General Directorate of Road Transport Services/ How lied the

A previously unheard-of scandal has been denounced for more than a month by CNA.al, regarding the purchase of a luxury BMW, which is used by the Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj.

Beyond the fact that the luxury car was bought at the height of a financial crisis, after two consecutive natural disasters such as the catastrophic November 26 earthquake and the Covid-19 pandemic, the scandal has to do with another detail.

As CNA.al previously reported, the vehicle was purchased by the State Police for the Contact Officer at the Albanian Embassy in Germany, but then the car was brought to Albania with German license plates, and parked at the General Directorate of State Police.

Further, the vehicle was equipped with Albanian license plates, and then was sent to the Ministry of Interior, for the Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj, to walk on the streets of Albania. Also, CNA.al reported that there have been strong clashes about the purchasing of this vehicle, since this is opposed by the Foreign Ministry, the Albanian Embassy in Berlin, but also by former deputy General Director of Police, Aida Hajnaj, which today is at the top of National Bureau of Investigation.

CNA.al continued the investigation and found out that at the moment we reported about the scandal in question, the vehicle was circulating without insurance and fake licence plates. This fact was also accepted by the Ministry of Interior itself.

But, after discovering these details, CNA.al addressed an official letter to three institutions, the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, the Ministry of Interior and the State Police. The latter, where is the ?heart? of the scandal, hasn?t yet returned us an answer.

While the Ministry of Interior, in the letter addressed to CNA.al which is dated 25.09.2020, the Ministry of Interior, admits that the car has temporarily held the license plate AA 976 UT. So he admits that the vehicle moved with false license plates. Which CNA.al confirmed the day before, while we published photos of the vehicle with changed license plates in AB 395 BC.

But what happened next? A day ago, the CNA.al editorial office received a letter from the General Directorate of Road Transport Services, which bears the signature of the general director Blendi Gonxhja.

In the letter addressed to CNA.al, Blendi Gonxhja expresses himself clearly and accurately, as CNA.al has expressed in the denunciation made a month ago. In his letter, Gonxhja states that the license plate AA 976 UT, which was placed in Sander Lleshaj?s luxury BMW, belonged to the State Police, as we had stated.

That the vehicle was purchased by the State Police, for the Contact Officer at the Albanian Embassy in Germany. He was then brought to Albania with extra-legal procedures and false license plates were placed on him, which didn?t belong to that vehicle.

But, they are license plates that came with a special protocol, as Mr. Gonxhja says, for the State Police. So, the car used by Sander Lleshaj had either the plates of the Operational Forces or the Anti-Drugs, and the vehicle circulated without documents and without insurance.

But the scandal lies in another fact. In the previous letter addressed to us, which bears the signature of the deputy director, the latter publicly deceived by saying that they are personal license plates.

In another letter addressed to CNA.al which is dated 02.09.2020, and was signed by the deputy director Endri Haxhiu, it is stated that ?we can not provide personal data of citizens without their consent?. So the State Police is personal and not a state institution?

The answer signed by Mr. Gonxhja is enough for us. He admits that the license plates belong to the State Police, and everything has been accepted by this institution. Well, this is the truth told by CNA.al.

So Sander Lleshaj took a car to Germany for the Contact Officer, brought it to Albania with German license plates, put fake license plates and circulated it with State Police license plates without insurance, and now as we discovered in the previous article, he has registered it vehicle and Mr.Gonxhe says those license plates belonged to the State Police.

But, General Directorate of Road Transport Services is involved in a scandal previously unheard, where in two letters addressed to CNA.al there are two different positions and two different arguments. The deputy director says it is a private tool, while now the director says it is not a private tool. And that the license plates belong to the State Police./CNA.al
