The Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj, involved recently in many scandals, is on the verge of resignation from his post as Minister. Mr. Lleshaj took office as Minister on October 27, 2018, after the resignation of Minister Fatmir Xhafaj.
CNA.al has learned that after the recent debates with Prime Minister Rama, Mr. Lleshaj resigned for the second time a few days ago. The news is confirmed by official sources at
the Ministry of Interior and his close staff, who say that this is the second case that Lleshaj submitted his resignation to Rama after intense debates with the prime minister.
There are many scandals and problematic for Minister Lleshaj, who took his first blow a few weeks ago, where he couldn’t be part of the Rama’ political staff to run some circles. In a public speech, Lleshaj admitted that he wasn’t very communicative as a political man, i.e
in the leadership of the party.
On the other hand, it is learned that during the time he was delegated in the region of Lezha, Mr.Lleshaj had fierce debates with the mayors of that area.
CNA.al has provided confidential information about Lleshaj’s resignation, which is not the first time, but now a decision is expected from Edi Rama, who was expected to make them public at the September Assembly of the Socialist Party, but which was postponed not only because of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, it is learned that there will be other movements in the government cabinet as reported in the media. Maybe the prime minister will accept Lleshaj’s resignation at the moment when he will configure all the changes of the government staff, where at least 4 ministers are expected to leave.
CNA.al announced recently the departure of Besa Shahini who resigned. With her move, Rama didn’t take further steps to move some other ministers. However, it is expected that with the imminent removal of Sander Lleshaj from office, there will be a replacement of
the Minister of Foreign Affairs, or some other circulations within the government cabinet./ CNA.al
